Team Member Spotlight, Jose Ramirez Mier, IT Support Specialist

Welcome to this week's team member spotlight! We are excited to introduce you to Jose Ramirez Mier, our very own IT Support Specialist here at Akorbi. As part of our ongoing series, we're delving into the experiences and insights of our incredible team members. This week, let’s get to know Jose a little better.

Q: What is your favorite thing about working at Akorbi?

Jose: My favorite thing about Akorbi would be the people. I always like to hear the stories of their day to day lives.

Q: What does your day-to-day look like?

Jose: I walk into a dark office and proceed to turn on the lights at eight. From there I turn on my computer and look at my calendar to see if there are any appointments or reoccurring tasks I need to take care of. Then I log into Jira to see if there are any tickets that need my immediate attention. If not, I proceed to work on any projects that I'm working on at the time. I also make sure to keep one ear open just in case there is an immediate IT situation physically here in the office that needs my knowledge. It's just like if I was a detective in one of those black and white movies. An investigator just waiting for the next case.

Q: Who motivates you?

Jose: I would have to say that my late mother motivates me. She always wished for my grumpy face self to find happiness so I'm always trying new things and applying myself to find that happiness.

Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?

Jose: I like to take care of live plants, although I may not be good at it now, I’m still trying to grow more plants at home.

Jose helps our computers and systems run smoothly. But it's not just about tech. His personal story and the stories of others show that different backgrounds and experiences make Akorbi stronger.
