Claudia Mirza, Akorbi CEO, Receives 2015 Enterprising Women of the Year Award

CLAUDIA MIRZA, AKORBI CEO, RECEIVES
2015 ENTERPRISING WOMEN OF THE YEAR AWARD
Only Texas-based company recognized in $10 million to $25 million category

PLANO, Texas – April 8, 2015 – Akorbi CEO, Claudia Mirza, received an Enterprising Women of the Year Award, one of the most prestigious awards for women business owners, during the Enterprising Women magazine’s 13th Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards & Conference on March 31st. Hundreds of the world’s top women entrepreneurs gathered at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Lake Buena Vista, Florida for the two-day event and awards gala.

Claudia was selected from hundreds of global applicants for leading a fast-growth business, mentoring and actively supporting other female entrepreneurs, standing out as a leader in her community and serving as a leader of key organizations that support the growth of women entrepreneurship.

“When this awards program began 13 years ago, there were only a handful of nominees in what was then the highest revenue category – over $10 million in annual revenues. This growth reflects the fact that more women are scaling their businesses to the $100 million plus level,” said Monica Smiley, publisher and CEO of Enterprising Women magazine.

“I’m honored to be recognized among so many dynamic and successful female entrepreneurs from around the world. Akorbi’s success wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of my business partner, Azam Mirza, and our amazing team members,” said Claudia Mirza, CEO of Akorbi. “Enterprising Women magazine has done a phenomenal job of shining a bright light on the achievements of women entrepreneurs and addressing the critical issues we confront.”

Claudia turned a home-based translation business into a global business solutions company that employs approximately 200 full-time and 400 part-time people around the world. The company serves an impressive client base, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and many Fortune 500 companies.

Akorbi’s success has been recognized world-wide. In June 2014, Akorbi was ranked as one of the largest providers of translation, localization and interpreting services in the U.S. and globally by independent market research firm, Common Sense Advisory.
