Akorbi is Recognized as the 30th Fastest-Growing Women-Owned/Led Company by the Women Presidents’ Organization

AKORBI IS RECOGNIZED AS THE 30TH FASTEST-GROWING WOMEN-OWNED/LED COMPANY BY THE WOMEN PRESIDENTS’ ORGANIZATION

PLANO, Texas – May 4, 2015 – Akorbi’s impressive 200% growth in recent years was celebrated during the Women Presidents’ Organization’s (WPO) 2015 Annual Conference. On May 1st, hundreds of business owners and executives from around the world gathered at the dinner and award’s ceremony at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, Arizona to celebrate the impressive growth and success of the 50 fastest-growing women-owned/led companies around the world.  The award’s ceremony was part of the WPO’s 3-day conference, which took place April 30th to May 2nd.

According to the WPO, “Participating companies were ranked according to a sales growth formula that combines percentage and absolute growth.  To be qualified for the ranking, businesses are required to be privately-held, woman-owned/led companies with annual revenue of at least $500,000 by year end 2009.”

Hundreds of companies competed for the highly-coveted recognition, which also took into account several other factors, including how candidates supported their staff both financially and personally, as well as how they supported other women business owners.

“Akorbi’s growth and success wouldn’t be possible without an amazing team of hardworking and dedicated people, including my phenomenal partner, Azam Mirza,” said Claudia Mirza, CEO of Akorbi.  “We’re very grateful for the Women Presidents’ Organization recognition, and the support of my fellow WPO members who are incredibly valuable resources.”

Akorbi employs approximately 200 full-time and 400 part-time people around the world.  The company serves an impressive client base, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and many Fortune 500 companies.

Akorbi’s success has been recognized world-wide.  In June 2014, Akorbi was ranked as one of the largest providers of translation, localization and interpreting services in the U.S. and globally by independent market research firm, Common Sense Advisory.
