Akorbi CEO, Claudia Mirza, Receives Women in Business Award

PLANO, Texas – August 27, 2013

Claudia Mirza was one of only 26 business owners and executives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to be honored by the Dallas Business Journal at its 6th Annual Women in Business Awards ceremony on June 14. Mirza joins other carefully selected and very successful businesswomen who have been honored over the years, including Ebby Halliday.

Hundreds of business professionals gathered at the Irving Convention Center to honor Mirza’s accomplishments and success. Mirza started a home-based translation business in 2003, which has evolved into an almost $5 million company with 40 full-time employees and more than 100 contractors as a result of her leadership.

Today, Akorbi caters to corporate and government clients around the world, including federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. During the last decade, Mirza’s tireless entrepreneurial spirit has led Akorbi’s evolution from a language translation company to a comprehensive provider of global localization solutions, as well as a very successful staffing company. Akorbi’s staffing clients include the largest security company in the world, as well as the largest provider of Internet services worldwide.

Mirza’s vision led to the development of a proprietary and patented translation management system, called AerialPM©, which uses language databases to quickly translate complex compliance documents and reduce translation costs, increase speed-to-market and minimize project management costs. It also allows clients to maintain complete control over the translation process through a proprietary client interface.
